Des Moines, Iowa (July 21, 2021) – Olsson, a nationally recognized engineering and design firm, announces the hiring of Meredith Emory as a senior engineer. She joins the firm’s Traffic and Technology team and is based in Des Moines, where she’ll work on projects throughout the Midwest.
Emory has more than 10 years of engineering experience in Atlanta, Georgia, with a well-known engineering firm. She is a technical expert in transportation engineering, including signal timing optimization, software, design and maintenance, intelligent transportation systems (ITS) design, traffic analysis, parking analysis and corridor studies.
“We’re excited to have Meredith join the Olsson team in Des Moines,” said Kurt Rotering, Traffic and Technology team leader. “She is skilled in signal timing, signal design, ITS and project management and will be a great asset to help our current and future clients manage and improve their transportation systems.”
Emory is an experienced project manager who has a commitment to quality, responsiveness, innovation and attention to detail. Most recently, she served as the program manager for a successful five-year program with the Georgia Department of Transportation. She actively managed more than 3,000 traffic signals and collaborated regularly with state and local agencies.
Earlier this year, Emory was recognized for her steadfast contribution and dedication to the state’s engineering and land development industry by Engineering Georgia magazine who included her in their article, “50 Women ‘In the Know.’” This recognition highlights the positive change, innovation and high professional standards she has brought to the industry.
She graduated from Georgia Institute of Technology with a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering.
