April 22, 2025 – Eric Fuselier, a project scientist, has received the 2025 Mayor’s Environmental Stewardship Award in Fayetteville, Arkansas. The award recognizes those who demonstrate excellence in environmental stewardship through sustainable practices, programs, or projects.
Fuselier has been honored for his contributions to the environment, including the use of native plants on projects, protection of wetland ecology, and advocacy for outdoor recreation. He was also instrumental in the development of the city's Climate Action Plan, which received an award from the American Council of Engineering Companies of Arkansas.
Fuselier was the sole winner in the individual category. In her remarks, Mayor Molly Rawn praised the award recipients, stating, “City staff and Fayetteville residents are sincerely grateful for their hard work, and I’m honored to recognize their passion and dedication to protecting the environment.”
Outside of work, Fuselier leads environmental hikes and tours and promotes environmental stewardship by partnering with the city and nonprofit organizations.
“The recipients of these awards are doing work that is meaningful not only in terms of climate resilience, but also work that has an impact on resident quality of life,” Rawn said.
