Olsson Names Rodney Hanson Phoenix Office General Civil Team Leader

PHOENIX (June 22, 2021) – Rodney Hanson, who has more than two decades of engineering experience, was named the team leader of Olsson’s General Civil team based in Phoenix. Olsson is a nationally recognized engineering and design firm that has two offices in Arizona.

Hanson joined Olsson in 2004 and previously served as a site civil industry expert and General Civil team leader in the firm’s South Sioux City, Nebraska, office. He has a strong background working on municipal civil engineering projects in Nebraska, Iowa and South Dakota.

“We’re excited to have Rod leading our General Civil team in Phoenix,” said Arizona office leader Fadi Jalaghi. “He has a strong track record of working closely with municipal leaders to design projects that are efficient, cost-effective and make our communities stronger and better connected.”

Hanson has experience in project management, including street designs, bike trails, distribution water mains and municipal wells. He is also well versed in construction administration and engineering design, and he has worked extensively with city officials and private clients.

Hanson has been involved in the American Water Works Association and the building oversight committee for Sioux City Community Schools.

He has a bachelor’s degree in civil and environmental engineering from the University of Iowa.

Hanson is taking over for Cardell Andrews, who now serves as Olsson’s industry expert focusing on data centers.
