The City of Lake City selected our firm to provide services for the city's new Underwood Substation and to modify its existing substation and distribution routes.
We outfitted the new substation, which included installing the following items:
- Transformers
- Structure
- Buswork
- Switching
- Voltage regulation
- Circuit protection
- Foundations
- Fencing
- Surfacing
- Grounding
- Feeder exits
Our team also provided underground feeder design and land surveying and created a Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan. In addition, we programmed the new substation’s relays and controls and provided station startup.
Other services we provided included assisting Lake City representatives in identifying alternatives for the new substation site, modifying subtransmission feeders, testing the new site soils for appropriate characteristics, and preparing a preliminary design report. Work also included performing a topographic survey for the new substation site, preparing final plans and specifications, creating bidding documents for all contracts, assisting Lake City representatives in obtaining permits from relevant agencies, and managing construction.
