FAYETTEVILLE, Arkansas (June 23, 2020) – Olsson, a nationally recognized engineering and design firm, is growing its transportation team in Fayetteville to better serve clients in and near Arkansas. Rick Herrick, who in the 1990s helped build the firm’s transportation practice from the ground up, has been tabbed to lead the Fayetteville team.
Olsson has a track record of successful transportation-related projects in Northwest Arkansas, such as Monte Ne Road in Rogers and the Maple Street Bike Track in Fayetteville.
Building a team dedicated solely to transportation projects in Arkansas allows Olsson to provide a wider range of services for freeways, streets, aviation, rail, traffic engineering, bicycle and pedestrian, transportation technology and mass transit.
“Growing our transportation team in Fayetteville gives us the opportunity to serve our Arkansas-based clients and those nearby more quickly and more efficiently,” said Brad Hammond, Olsson’s Fayetteville office leader. “Rick Herrick is the ideal person to lead this new team. He is an experienced manager and engineer who has overseen numerous transportation projects throughout his career.”
Since 2016, Herrick has led Olsson’s growth strategy for public sector clients based in Nebraska. During this time, he also served as interim practice leader and was Olsson’s client relationship manager for the City of Lincoln.
Herrick has more than 40 years of experience working on public sector projects. He’s skillful at corridor planning and overseeing innovative transportation-based development projects.
Herrick recently relocated to Fayetteville.
“I’m excited about putting together a team focused on providing safe and reliable solutions to improve the communities in and around Arkansas,” Herrick said.
